- Department store Kvik was built in the year 1969 at 8 Gosposka Street in Maribor.
- The project of renovation, under the leadership of the architect Borut Pečenko from Komunaprojekt, started at the beginning of September 2004 by the investor S, Oliver S L O. Renovation itself was accomplished in eight months, from January till September 2006. Creator of the basic idea of renovation was MA Heinz H Brunner from the AGP Wien. Peter Kocmut from Komunaprojekt was in charge of renovation. The interior of the cafe, restaurant and vinoteque Rožmarin, as well as children's world were design by architects Špela Leskovic BSc, Aleš Košak BSc and Tina Vatovec, undergraduate in architecture, AKSL architects.
- Object was categorised as cultural heritage, therefore all the demands issued by the Institute for Protection of Cultural Heritage (IPCH) had to be considered. Before renovating, this building was only one more threat to become lingering half empty place in the city. Therefore, compromise was found so that authentic modernistic facade was preserved, and new membrane, as a new outfit, providing most up to date functional revitalisation was built. Two bigger interventions were carried out during the renovation; the building was enclosed with the glass facade and connected with the neighbouring building. Glass, transparent lining, which gives to the building new, modern appearance, looks as protective skin, as a shield against unpleasant external influences, consequences of which had been very well seen before the renovation.
- Galerija Gosposka opened its door to the visitors on 1st September 2006.
